 Apple Pie

The saying is "American as apple pie" for a reason: this sweet treat may be a national institution. Forget anybody who will attempt to tell you pecan or lime is best , because they're lying. the straightforward combination of sugar, buttery pastry and tart sliced apples produces a dessert so extraordinary people have devoted their entire lives to perfecting it.
For a very excellent example, try the pie with added green chilies at the Pie-O-Neer, in Pie Town, New Mexico . Phone ahead and Kathy Knapp, the self-proclaimed "Pie Lady of Pie Town", will prevent a slice.

The series on homemade Gravlax continues with these ‘Lox ‘n Bagel Sammies. This post is more of a serving suggestion, instead of a recipe, per say. These bring an excellent ‘anytime’ meal. Start your time off right by having one for breakfast. Refuel your energy and scarf one down for lunch. Or, throw one together for a simple week night dinner.
I made mine fairly simple, with a slather of bacon-chive flavored cheese , slices of tomato, cured salmon, thin slices of shallots, and a sprinkling of fresh dill and capers.
Feel free to form these your own creation. There are not any rules. i might have added sliced hothouse cucumbers and sprouts, but I didn't have any available . And, to be honest, i used to be feeling too lazy to drive to the grocery store… so I went without.

However, I highly recommend you are doing not be like me. Add them if you've got ’em because it might make this sandwich (more) out of this world good.

Clam chowder

Clam chowder is simpler to form than you think that – and therefore the homemade version is unbelievably creamy, flavorful and chockfull of clams!
Soup season has come and gone, but a bowl of chowder can really be eaten in any quite weather, especially when it involves the homemade version.
If you didn’t know, chowder is really a really simple soup to organize with a couple of pantry ingredients. Now some recipes involve fresh clams but I actually like better to use canned clams for several different reasons.
1. It’s certainly easier – all you've got to try to to is open up the can. Done.
2. It’s budget-friendly at $2.99 per can versus $9.99 per pound.
3. Last but not least, it brings during a lot more flavor once you use both the canned clams and juices, to not mention the abundance of clams also , something you don’t really get once you order out.
Now what i really like about this recipe is that you simply have absolute complete control over the creaminess of the soup. you'll make it as thick as you’d like, or a touch bit runny if that’s how you favor your soup. Just make certain to possess those oyster crackers able to go because this soup is bound to disappear from your dinner table!

Deep-Dish Pizza

Chicago-style pizza is pizza prepared consistent with several different styles developed in Chicago. the foremost famous is deep-dish pizza. The pan during which it's baked gives the pizza its characteristically high edge which provides ample space for giant amounts of cheese and a chunky spaghetti sauce .
Naples, Italy is credited with the origination of pizza within the late 1700s to early 1800s. But it's going to are inspired by an identical flatbread-style dish served by ancient Egyptians, Romans, and Greeks. Italian immigrants then brought pizza to the US within the 19th-20th century.
It was in Chicago that deep dish style pizza was created. the primary deep dish pizza is believed to possess been created by Ike Sewell and Ric Riccardo in 1943 at their restaurant Pizzeria Uno (but the origin is debated). The concept became wildly popular and Pizzeria Uno now has over 200 locations worldwide! So, what’s a Chicago-style deep dish pizza, and what makes it different from the classic Italian pizza? That’s an honest question actually, as they need absolutely nothing to try to to with one another . the design is different, the feel is different, the taste is different. to start with, a Chicago-style deep dish pizza is baked during a deep dish cake pan (!). It consists of a crunchy flaky crust with edges rising within the pan, and garnished with generous layers of cheese and spaghetti sauce . Not your regular flat and thin pizza.

The Hamburger

A hamburger (also burger for short) may be a sandwich consisting of 1 or more cooked patties of ground meat, usually beef, placed inside a sliced bread roll or bun. The patty could also be pan fried, grilled, smoked[1] or flame broiled. Hamburgers are often served with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, bacon, or chiles; condiments like ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, relish, or a "special sauce", often a variation of Thousand Island dressing; and are frequently placed on benniseed buns. A hamburger topped with cheese is named a cheeseburger.[2]
The term "burger" also can be applied to the meat patty on its own, especially within the uk , where the term "patty" is never used, or the term can even refer simply to hamburger . Since the term hamburger usually implies beef, for clarity "burger" could also be prefixed with the sort of meat or meat substitute used, as in beef burger, turkey burger, bison burger, or veggie burger.
Hamburgers are sold at fast-food restaurants, diners, and specialty and high-end restaurants (where burgers may sell for several times the value of a fast-food burger, but could also be one among the cheaper options on the menu). There are many international and regional variations of the hamburger.
